Peshawar suicide attack death toll rises to 52

PESHAWAR: The death toll from Friday’s suicide attack in Peshawar’s Khyber Bazaar has reached 52, as four more people succumbed to their injuries, a hospital official said on Saturday. Forty-five more people have been admitted for treatment. A Lady Reading Hospital official told Daily Times that 23 bodies were yet to be identified, as they had been burnt beyond recognition. The official said 212 people were brought to the hospital, including 52 dead and 166 injured. However, police officials said no headway had been made in the investigation so far However, a police statement said following the blast, police had arrested at least 88 Afghan refugees illegally residing in the city and registered cases against them under the Foreigners Act. manzoor ali shah
